Following the loss by the Claremont Tigers to Swan Districts in the WAFL competition yesterday, the Claremont Piranhas took to the oval ready to pick up their first win of the season in the WAWFL competition against the Safety Bay Stingers.
Maybe it's because they're Piranhas, or maybe its just because they like the mud, but the Piranhas sure do play better in the wet!
The Piranhas always know they're going to have a great match against the Stingers, and the match in this round was no different with both teams turning it on for a great match. It was great to see a few spectators from the earlier WAFL match hang around and watch the girls fight their way to victory.
Alex Miller kicked three goals, Brie Harken kicked two and rookie, Kavneet Elvin also kicked a goal. The final score was Claremont Piranhas 6.6.42, Safety Bay Stingers 4.2.25.
The team recently made the decision that they were in the competition to win, and win they did. Let's hope this is the first of many wins in coming weeks! |
